More than a coloring page

Print a page and see where it takes you. These projects turn a single coloring sheet into an afternoon of creating, learning, and making something to keep.

Watercolor Coloring

The thick outlines of a coloring page are the perfect guide for little painters. Print on cardstock, wet the brush, and let the colors bloom right up to the lines — or way over them. Every page comes out different, and that's the whole point.

Ages 4 + 30–60 min Beginner friendly
1 Generate your page in Colorín — animals, scenes, and characters all work beautifully.
2 Print on cardstock (at least 65 lb) so the paper doesn't buckle when wet.
3 Paint with a lightly loaded brush — less water means more control for younger kids.
4 Let dry flat, then frame, hang, or mail to a grandparent.
You'll need Watercolor paints · Brushes · Cardstock · A cup of water

Build Your Own Storybook

Ask your child to tell you a story — any story — then generate a coloring page for each scene. Color them, stack them, and staple the spine. In an afternoon you'll have a one-of-a-kind book that belongs entirely to them.

Ages 5 + 1–2 hours Great for rainy days
1 Have your child narrate their story scene by scene. Write down the key moments.
2 Generate one Colorín page per scene — characters, settings, and pivotal moments make great pages.
3 Color the pages, then help your child write or dictate a sentence on the back of each.
4 Stack in order, fold a cover from colored paper, and staple along the spine.
You'll need Crayons or markers · Colored paper for cover · Stapler · Imagination

The Alphabet

Generate 26 pages — one for each letter, featuring something your child already loves. A is for their pet, B is for their favorite book, C is for whatever they're obsessed with this week. Color them all and hang them around their room.

Ages 3 + A few sittings Learning through play
1 Together, pick one thing your child loves for each letter — make it personal and silly.
2 Generate a Colorín page for each one. Do a few letters at a time so it doesn't feel like a chore.
3 Color as you go — no need to finish all 26 before hanging. Partial alphabets are charming too.
4 Hang in a row along a wall, string on twine with mini clips, or bind into an alphabet book.
You'll need Crayons or colored pencils · Command strips or twine · 26 pages of imagination
